After spending three chapters reminding us what God has done in Christ, Ephesians 4 marks a major transition. The Apostle Paul moves from doctrine to daily life, from what we believe to how we live.
In Ephesians 4:1-6, Paul urges believers to "walk worthy of the calling" they have received. This is not a call to earn God's favor, but a response to the grace, mercy, forgiveness, and new life we have already received in Jesus Christ.
What does a worthy walk look like? Paul points us to humility, gentleness, patience, bearing with one another in love, and maintaining the unity of the Spirit. These are not merely character traits to admire—they are evidence of a life transformed by the gospel.
As followers of Jesus, what we believe must show up in our walk.
Growing in God This Week:
Read: Ephesians 4:1-6
Pray: Father, show me where I am not being humble, patient, gentle, or willing to bear the burdens of others. Use Your Spirit to help me surrender these areas to You.
Respond: Walk in humility, patience, gentleness, burden-bearing, and unity. Then thank the Lord for strengthening your walk with Him.
